Consumers choose energy-saving Tower products to save money after government ends Energy Bill Support Scheme

According to the UK Government’s 2023 Spring Budget, gas and electricity prices are remaining high at an Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) of £2,500 for typical households, at least until the end of June 2023. According to Money Saving Expert, the average unit rate for Direct Debit from April to June 2023 will be 10.31p per kWh for gas, and 33.21p per kWh for electricity, very similar to rates seen earlier in the year.

This temporarily overrules Ofgem’s Energy Price Cap Level of £3,280, amid previous speculation of an even higher EPG rise, prompting UK consumers to prepare for rising costs with uncertainty.

The announcement coincides with the ending of the UK Government’s Energy Bill Support Scheme. This is a Government-funded support scheme which saw households receive up to £67 off energy bills per month, between October 2022 and March 2022, at a maximum saving of £400.

UK consumers are now looking to energy-saving appliances to reduce costs in the home as uncertainty continues with energy pricing and overall inflation. RKW currently provide over 4000 products, with many holding energy-saving benefits, such as small domestic appliances (SDA) from leading own-brand Tower.

Energy-efficient SDA

RKW have over 30 years of experience in the housewares and SDA market, providing quality products that are visually on-trend, whilst also meeting a customer’s functional requirements.

Through own-brand Tower, RKW are striving to ease cost of living concerns for UK consumers by supplying a variety of energy-saving products for use in the home. It requires minimal investment for consumers to achieve as Tower is iconic for its affordability and quality.

Tower

A consumer’s kitchen is usually where the most energy consumption takes place, as many appliances used every single day will have high wattage power levels, making them expensive to run.

By switching to a range of Tower kitchen appliances, many consumers are saving money on energy bills.

Tower air fryers – up to 70% off energy bills

Air fryers have become a popular cooking appliance in recent years, consistently praised for their energy-saving benefits. Typically smaller than an oven, they usually require less energy to heat, often cooking food quicker than alternatives.

Consumers are encouraged to invest in Tower air fryers as an alternative to conventional ovens, as the switch allows them to save up to 70% on their overall energy bill. The Tower T17102 Vortx Vizion 11L dual air fryer oven is a perfect example, saving consumers up to £276 a year on energy compared with a standard 3kW oven.

Tower air fryers still maintain cooking versatility with energy-savings, able to cook a variety of meal time classics such as succulent roast chicken, pork, beef, or lamb.

Tower pressure cookers – up to 90% off energy bills

For consumers looking to save further, Tower pressure cookers are another excellent recommendation. Overall, very little energy is used compared to alternative appliances, and pressure cookers have the added benefit of locking in far more nutrients and minerals during the cooking process.

RKW recommends the Tower T920003 One-touch Ultima 6L pressure cooker, providing energy savings of up to 90%, by cooking fast and delicious meals for as little as 18 pence per hour. This calculation is based on consumers utilising a 1.75kW gas hob.

Tower microwaves – speedy cooking from 5p per meal

Microwaves are a surprisingly energy-efficient and versatile cooking appliance that most consumers already own, although they are often overlooked for larger and more expensive appliances such as ovens.

Using a Tower microwave, consumers looking to save energy in the kitchen can cook a variety of their favourite meals such as soup, pizza, and fish. RKW recommends the Tower T24039GRY Renaissance 20L microwave, cooking speedy meals from as little as 5p compared to an oven, which uses 10 times more power.

Energy saving through summer months

RKW are proud to supply a range of energy-saving products to help reduce cost of living concerns, as the Energy Price Guarantee remains consistently high for three additional months.

Tower will continue to support consumers during this time by providing energy-saving hints and tips alongside available products. Dedicated energy-saving website pages are accessible through Tower’s mega menu, or by clicking here.
