February 2025: Founded in 2023 by Louise Truman, Plotpackers is a purpose-driven tour operator committed to curating group trips and expeditions that prioritise sustainability, safety, female empowerment and accessibility.
At Plotpackers, the transformative power of group travel is celebrated by providing affordable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for those seeking adventure and camaraderie. Committed to responsible travel and putting people and planet above profit, Plotpackers consider themselves to be conscious - a philosophy that extends into all aspects of their trips, from limiting a travellers carbon by offering trip chaining opportunities to supporting local communities and employing local people who, after all, know each destination best.
WHAT’S NEW?
In 2025, Plotpackers are launching expeditions alongside their group trips. The brand new itineraries will take travellers to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro - the world’s tallest freestanding mountain, before spotting the Big 5 on the vast plains of the Serengeti, and to the thrilling Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal. These new expeditions highlight Plotpackers’ commitment to offering bucket-list experiences at an affordable price point for travellers seeking something out of the ordinary, and for travellers who otherwise would have considered experiences such as these out-of-reach.
With increasing interest in group and solo travel, the way we travel has evolved. However, according to the Solo Female Travel Trends Survey, 70% of women list personal safety as their number one concern when travelling alone. Aligning with Plotpackers’ mission to uplift women worldwide, the company has invested into a revolutionary AI-powered personal safety app called Epowar - the first of its kind technology that aims to protect women whilst travelling by detecting attacks, alerting emergency contacts, and recording an evidence pack without the need to signal an alarm. Previously only available in the UK, thanks to Plotpackers’ investment and collaboration, as of February 2025 it has begun rolling out internationally - starting in Costa Rica where Plotpackers launched their first ever group trips.
By placing purpose over profit, Plotpackers are redefining group travel, ensuring their values are intrinsic to every decision they make.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT PLOTPACKERS?
In just over a year, Plotpackers has grown from Louise and her laptop on a sun-drenched balcony in Cartagena to a global operation with a team of over 30 people, as well as 100+ partnered creators and over 20 different tours worldwide. Plotpackers was positioned by Louise as a solution to a gap in the market for group travel that was affordable yet action-packed. The trips blend adventure and excitement with cultural immersion, allowing travellers to forge connections not only with each other but also with local communities and landscapes, all while rooted in sustainable practices.
At the heart of Plotpackers is an unwavering dedication to make travel a force for good, leading the change by reimagining group travel through the lens of sustainability. Within a year of operation, Plotpackers achieved a carbon neutral status through a regenerative approach that involves giving back to the environment and communities visited. From efficient transportation choices, low-impact activities and sustainable accommodation, to proudly supporting local economies by using locally sourced products and guides, Plotpackers contribute to the creation of an equitable and regenerative world. As the company continues to evolve, the focus on reducing their ecological footprint will remain central to the brand identity, alongside the aim to become an active participant in UK climate politics, contributing to the dialogue and actions shaping the future of environmental sustainability.
