08 September 2026, London, UK: London-based TV Edwards has announced the appointments of three new heads of department, as the long-established law firm sees demand for its expertise in complex family and private client work continue to grow.

In the first three months of this year alone, the firm, which has offices in Whitechapel and Clapham Junction, has seen a 34% increase in family instructions compared to the same period last year, while it continues to invest and grow its private client team.

Partner, Sarah Inchley, who has been with the firm for three years, has been promoted to Head of Family Law, while the appointments also include two new senior hires. Caroline Andrews, formerly at Tees Law, joins as Head of Family Finance. Cheryl Thompson, who moves from Carter Lemon Camerons, joins as Head of Private Client.

Thompson has over 20 years’ experience, advising and acting for clients with a broad range of personal circumstances and financial needs, from more straightforward estates to the much more complex such as those including high-net-worth and cross border aspects. Her expertise includes Wills, Estate Planning and Administration, Trusts, as well as Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection Deputyship applications.

Working alongside the wider Family team, including its public children and international children teams, Andrews will oversee the on-going development of the firm’s dedicated family law finance team offering tailored financial advice for separating and divorcing couples, as well as all those seeking remedies around child financial arrangements.

With experience spanning nearly two decades, she has worked exclusively in family law, specialising in divorce and matrimonial finances, as well as civil partnership dissolutions. Her work also includes prenuptial agreements, safeguarding financial assets, cohabitation matters, and complex business, pension and child maintenance arrangements.

Andrews said: “Our family finance team provides clients with specialist support at every stage of a separation or divorce and across all aspects of family law.

“Financial arrangements can often be one of the most complex aspects especially during relationship breakdowns. By bringing family finance together with the firm's wider strengths in family and child law, we can provide a more joined-up service and clear, practical advice that reflects each client's individual circumstances, including high-net-worth cases.”

Thompson added: “Our clients often come to us at some of the most important moments in their lives, whether planning for the future, protecting their assets or supporting loved ones. I’m delighted to be taking on the role of Head of Private Client. My focus will be on strengthening the department’s specialist expertise and ensuring we continue to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients. I look forward to working with the team to build on the department's existing strengths and develop its specialist offering.”

Founded in 1929, TV Edwards Solicitors is an award winning, multi-practice law firm. Its team of legal professionals support clients across a broad range of legal services including Family, Wills, Trusts and Probate, Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Property, Commercial Litigation, Employment, Alcohol & Entertainment Licensing as well as Disputes, Crime, and Personal Injury.

Inchley, Head of Family said: “It’s a real privilege to lead a team that helps people through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Every day, we see the life-changing difference that expert, compassionate legal advice can make for families.

“We work across three specialist teams - including public law children, family finance, and complex and international children law - all within one award-winning Family department. This joined-up approach means we can provide outstanding support on every aspect of family law.

“I’m excited to build on the department’s strong foundations by developing our people, growing our specialist services and ensuring we continue to provide the highest quality advice and representation in an evolving area of law. We’re committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients and making sure they receive the support and representation they deserve when it matters most.”

Julian Overton, Managing Partner at TV Edwards, said: “The development of our Family Finance and Private Client teams is of huge strategic significance for TV Edwards.

“Growing these departments provides us with opportunities to reach new clients and expand our service offering, whilst building upon the high-quality work that has established the firm's reputation.

“I’m delighted that we have been able to attract such talented individuals in Caroline and Cheryl, who share the firm's values and vision for growth. I’m equally pleased to see Sarah appointed as our new Head of Family Law. She has already made a significant contribution to the firm, and her leadership, expertise and commitment to our clients will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen the department.

“Together, Caroline, Cheryl and Sarah bring a wealth of practical experience, expertise and ambition, and I have every confidence they will play a key role in the firm's continued success. I wish them all the best in their new roles.”
