In 1994, Juliet Gellatley founded Viva! – the trailblazing, and largest, campaigning vegan charity in Europe. She followed with Viva! Poland in 2001 – one of the biggest animal protection groups in Central Europe and Viva! Uganda in 2023.
Juliet has created and launched innumerable campaigns and is author of several reports, guides and books, from "Healthy Vegan Kids" to "Why You Don’t Need Dairy".
She has filmed and exposed many factory farms, severely embarrassing major companies and supermarkets – many of which changed policies. Juliet filmed at the notorious Hogwood pig farm that supplied Tesco, and is producer of the documentary, "Hogwood: a modern horror story", airing on Netflix.
Juliet led the creation of the first issue based vegan cinema ad and TV ad in the UK. She practically closed the exotic meat industry in Britain and has led ‘first time’ exposes, including being the first person to investigate the factory farming of ducks, covered in every national.
Juliet has developed the four arms of Viva! UK - animals, planet, health and lifestyle, with Viva! being the trusted source of everything vegan.
Juliet is an inspirational, fun and informative speaker and has made many media appearances across the world. She has a degree in zoology and psychology; diploma in direct marketing and is a qualified nutritional therapist.
Juliet is based in Bristol. viva.org.uk vivahealth.org.uk
