Northumberland castle hotel, Langley Castle, has stepped into spring with an array of accommodation offers that aim to put the medieval into March.
All of these offers should tempt the 42% of Brits who have never stayed at a medieval castle hotel in the UK (53% of women) and the fifth (20%) of Brits who want to put this on their bucket list (24% of women)*. There is also great news if you have an NE postcode and fancy an atmospheric meal out.
The castle, located a short drive from Hexham, has created a number of accommodation offers for the month of March. There is a 20% reduction on the cost of a dinner, bed and breakfast stay, another offer for those able to enjoy a mid-week break, and even a long weekend offer. A free bottle of Prosecco is the temptation for those booking a Sunday stay.
Then, to showcase the delights of the 2AA Rosette restaurant to even more local residents, anyone with an NE postcode has their own special dining out deal. Simply showing proof of residence of living locally and having an NE postcode, allows up to six people to dine out and have the price of their meal reduced by 10%, if they pre-book.
All is part of a 2025 drive to stop Langley Castle from being a hidden gem, despite its gloriously private and secluded location just off the A686.
Tempting locals is also part of an appreciation of the fact that people travel from around the world to visit the castle and yet it is often overlooked by those on its doorstep. Sometimes this is because they are unaware of its existence; at others because they do not feel brave enough to pull up and go in.
“We want to break down the barriers and allow more people to know about and experience our amazing venue,” says Langley Castle’s general manager, Mohamed Serag. “Even if people do know of the castle, they do not always appreciate that non-residents can book for our candlelit Josephine Restaurant, or just drop in for coffee, afternoon tea or our relaxed dining menu, all of which are served in our gorgeous, chandelier-lit Drawing Room. Our aim this year is to bring more guests through our door, whether they stay overnight or not.”
Treating a loved one is another way to do this and Langley Castle has special Mother’s Day and Father’s Day menus available in the coming months, as well as Easter, May Bank Holiday and Whitsun Bank Holiday menus.
It also has offers on its exquisite afternoon teas in March and some special deals for pensioners who dine from the relaxed dining menu.
All details can be found at www.langleycastle.co.uk, in the offers section of the dropdown menu.

It has a rich history, with strong links to Jacobite rebellions, is located just a stone's throw from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall and boasts features including battlements, seven-feet-thick walls, window seats set into the walls and the best example of medieval garderobes in Europe. It is one of the most exquisite wedding venues in the north and also offers a wide range of options when it comes to exclusive use, with the castle being available for weddings, family celebrations, Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs, D&D-style events and a wide variety of corporate functions.
