Saffron and Cyrus is a Newcastle-based family lifestyle blog, covering family days out, travel, reviews, recipes and more from our multicultural family life.
The blog is written by new mum over 40, Aranda, with input from hubby H and Little C.
Saffron and Cyrus is a cheeky nod to my son, Cyrus and the Persian spice saffron, which are at the heart of my work and worth their weight in gold!
Aranda says: "Saffron and Cyrus was born as a way of indulging my passion for creativity in my rare hours of me-time. It’s somewhere I can write about the multicultural aspects of our family life.
"I love writing about family adventures, kids stuff, food, pregnancy, parenting, health and wellbeing.
"All of this has come together to create my own little lifestyle destination. I hope our family blog will be somewhere other families can visit for tips, tricks and inspiration."

About me
Hello! I’m Aranda, a new mum over 40 and self-care, family and lifestyle blogger living in the North East of England.
As mum to Cyrus, now aged four, I have a full-time PR job and a hectic social life. I am also accused of burning the candle at both ends by my Persian husband, H.
I started the blog in 2016 on maternity leave with the notion to empower women 40-plus as I found very little positive support in Cyberspace when I was pregnant at 40. I could have done with knowing there were others out there the same age, sharing similar experiences.
From there, the rest is history. I like to keep things super real when working with brands. I love it when brands share our photos and blog posts – all I ask is that we are properly credited.
