Best juicer for batch making: KUVINGS AUTO8 Star rating: 4/5

The Kuvings Auto 8 Juicer is the one to choose if you’re feeding several mouths, or if you prefer to make your juice in large batches. Its hopper is much bigger than the Auto 6's, at 2 litres. It also has a 4cm-wide feeding chute. With just one button and two modes – forward and reverse – it’s about as intuitive as they come. We were pleasantly surprised at how well this juicer tackled everything we threw at it, including kale, apples and ginger. The easy-to-digest manual provides instructions for preparation and which ingredients to avoid, and you can switch the juicing strainer for the included blank strainer to make ice cream or sorbet. This juicer isn't dishwasher-safe, so the larger hopper does make for a trickier clean-up. We ended up fighting with pieces of kale stuck between the pulp spout and the juicing drum, but the two cleaning brushes included in the box do come in handy. The juicer also comes with two handy cups (600ml and 1 litre), but for £450 we would have liked them to be made from something other than plastic. If it’s between this and the Auto 6, and if you’re not going to be using it for batch-making juices, we’d recommend saving the £90 and going for the smaller (and easier to store) Auto 6.
